Life can be so Hard

Well, after a few days in Provence, I have really settled in to some much needed R&R. The local culture has really captured us and taken a strong hold on our livers and stomachs. Today was market day in Cotignac. We got up reasonably early, walked down the path to toen and were sipping our Cafe creme by 9 a.m. then we walked the streets and came to a parking lot on the side street filled with culinary delights in true provencale style. More on this later in a separate blog.
The pics above are a true representation of the way of life here....there is nothing like having a washrrom just off your outdoor living room for those 30C days!

After market we had lunch of bbq chicken and pomme de terre ( coin sized pieces cooked marvelously in the tray below the chickens, where all the fat runs off the raosting birds..how genious and absolutely delicious. Heather and Phil made a nice green , and a few bagettes and bottles of Rose thrown in and thrown in a man, thats a mid day meal!

After lunch we had a horrible discovery..we had only 6 bottles of vin Rose and 3 bottles of vin Rouge left in the house. So a side trip to Carces was in order to walk the town and go the source of our new favourite vineyard.....Carpe Diem.
A successful misssion! The wine fridge is stocked and life is good. A very special dinner is planned for this evening so stay tuned....all local ingredients purchased today at the market.
